Craigellachie Distillery

Craigellachie distillery was built by Charles Doig in 1890 near the intersection between the northern, southern, and eastern railways that allowed freer travel and trade around Scotland. The distillery was jointly owned by Sir Peter Mackie of White Horse Distillers and Alexander Edward. When Edward left to pursue other interests (see Benromach and Dallas Dhu) White Horse Distillers took full ownership of Craigellachie.

Following DCLs merger with IDV in 1998, Craigellachie - and a number of other distilleries - were sold. Bacardi purchased Craigellachie, and still owns the working distillery today.

Craigellachie was relaunched as a single malt brand in 2014.
