Established in 1952 by Hiroshi Tsubota, Tsubota Pearl manufactures lighters, cigarette cases and leather goods in the heart of Tokyo. The Hard Edgemodel was developed in 1999 as a creative exploration into a fresh lighter design. The result is a fashionable smoking accessory representative of the vibrant design aesthetic of Japan.
TheQueue lighter is a petite and attractive fashion lighter.
The lighter functions very similarly to a Zippo: using liquid lighter fluid, a replaceable flint striker and a wick and wadding system. To fuel, the bottom screw is removed and fuel poured in via the screw opening.
The flint is replaced by first removing the top flint wheel by pulling upward. On the base there is a small screw that is removed to access the flint chamber, to drop a new flint in. The wheel is directional, so when re-inserting, ensure the red dot faces the wick.
Occasionally the wick will need to be replaced, it is fed inside the length of the lighter.
As a lighter fluid system, the fuel will evaporate over time, even when not used. It usually requires filling every 1 - 2 weeks.
