This exceptional vintage S.T. Dupont lighter was crafted in the 1980s and belongs to the extremely rare StarDust Gold Powder series. Executed in a 24k gold finish with deep red natural lacquer enriched by gold powder, this Ligne 2 LD model represents one of the most technically demanding decorative finishes ever produced by S.T. Dupont. These pieces were not mass-produced; each lighter was made strictly to order, requiring advance payment and an extended production process. After initial manufacture, the lighter was sent to Japan, where master craftsmen applied layers of lacquer infused with 24-carat gold powder using traditional Maki-e techniques. The process involved repeated application, polishing, and refinement over several months, resulting in subtle variations that make each example unique. This lighter has never been used and is preserved in outstanding original condition, offered with its complete original presentation set.
